This is the story of a couple in 19th-century Paris, France.

Due to an unfortunate chain of events, the city was left devastated and haunted by an unknown virus.

Only a handful of people were immune, and she was one of them.

Her husband had left in an attempt to find a cure. She received just one letter from him : a letter she would read over and over as she waited patiently at home. She searched for him desperately.

Years have passed. Eventually, she lost hope. She never saw him again and let herself die, never parting with the letter she had read thousands of times.
