During the Joseon Dynasty, in the early autumn, a young woman is summoned to the palace to take part in a selection process that could alter the course of her destiny. Alongside other candidates, she must demonstrate grace, restraint, and dignity.

When she is finally chosen, she leaves behind the life she knew to enter a world governed by the traditions and secrets of the Court.

Before she can take her place beside the king, she must master the strict rules of the royal court. Her days are now filled with etiquette, ceremonies, formal language, music, attire, and duties. Gradually, she learns to control her emotions and find her footing in a realm where every gesture carries weight.

Her training complete, she truly enters royal life as a concubine to the king. Surrounded by luxury and privilege, she begins a new existence—one where her future hinges as much on the king's favor as on her ability to survive the subtle power games of the Court.
